I would say this is the part where we have started to feel the weight of working around the clock, day after day for so long.
We are tired.
Construction on a building is one hard task. I have a mad respect for contractors. I can now see why all the local ones were booked up when we began our project. I have to believe that contractor work can feel what it might be like to play in the NFL, but without all the trainers to help your body bounce back. On top of the contractor work, we have been building a website and figuring the in and outs of starting a business. Taxes. Contracts. Applications. Logos. Shirts. Class schedules. There is so much. I feel myself constantly being stretched and doing things out of my natural giftings, but with an end goal…I continue to press on.
After all that sanding and mudding, my creative heart needed a fun project. So, I started an elephant. I have envisioned fun aspects all over our space that may be used to inspire others and excite kids, so I was thrilled to be starting one!
Our new walls were ready to be painted as well. So, we picked some fun colors and started painting…pink being one of them…and we LOVE it! Even my boys 🙂
We decided to add wide stained wood trim to help balance out all our color, and I love the way the dark trim mixes in with all our growing color.
Our fireplace is almost finished. Matt helped build a mantel that I just love. It mixes the wood, rustic look in with our bold, vibrant colors. I hope this place has a bit of lots of different styles and inspires others to think outside the box and make a place/things that are personal to them. It’s ok to be bold and yourself. It is actually amazing. We were created as unique masterpieces to do the good works that He planned for us long ago (Ephesians 2:10). Let’s live that out in confidence.
We are so excited. The end is insight. This above view use to be this view…
The place is different. We are different. Yet the vision is the same. These four months of construction have been tearful, hard, stretching, and exhausting…but in the very same breath…they have been refining, exciting, life-giving, purposeful, creative, and intentional. More than ever there is a heart, a burning passion, to have a place for our community.
A place that all our welcome.
A place that love is felt.
A place that life is breathed into.
A place others feel safe.
We want to host birthday parties for kids in foster care. We want RSP coaches to have another place they can bring their kids. We want families to play board games here. We want daddies to do daughter dates in our walls. Moms to do son dates. Artists to rise up. Dreams of creating to be unleashed. Skills to be invested in. Natural gifts to be used for good. Local artists and moms coming alive in selling their work. A team of workers feeling invested in. Value being claimed over every head.
We continually pray this is a place that fosters creativity and grows relationships.
We need your help! Will you join us in bringing this vision into a reality? God continually has provided and paved a way for this vision and we have no doubt He will continue to do so. You will be used mightily in this story.
We have a few big things left to do, before we can open our doors. Plumbing, electrical, classroom doors, a sign, and making the bathroom sink handicap accessible are a few things still on our list. Your donation will literally be used to change lives in our community.
